Coronet from India
Hi,
I've seen a couple of these come up for sale in the last few months, do any members have one? They look sturdy and well made.

I have been keeping an eye out for a lathe this year and saw this one for sale. I have a family friend that has been a Fitter/machinist for 25 years and asked him for advise about the Coronet. His response was "Don't even go there. I've seen quite a bit of Indian machinery. Very shoddy". At that point, I crossed that manufacturer off my list.

Indian stuff
Hi Ben
I have a Indian made T&C grinder. I've used it mainly grinding lathe tools and its a good quality machine . I would not right off all Indian made machinery as being rubbish .
Looking at that Coronet lathe the finish and general appearance looks to be fine - I like the helical back gears it has . Id rather have a Coronet than your average Chinese hobby lathe . Mike
