Drum sander height/length ratio
I bought a 400mm drum sander today, (the DS-1632 400mm single-drum sander, from H&F: https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/L110), and noticed that the minimum length and width for timber are stated, (3" long, 3/4" wide), but what's not mentioned is what is a good minimum length/height ratio to avoid the material tipping slightly, (or a lot). ie. If a piece of timber is 100mm long and 120mm tall, it would tend to tip and cause sniping.
Any thoughts welcome.
