suggestions on lvl for living area continuous spanning 7 mtres
howdy all
firstly ...AWESOME site , cant say how many hrs iv spent enjoying reading all about the DIY renos and and helpful comments to questions
Ok..now im in the middle of my reno for my rental at the moment and need a suitable LVL to continuous span 7 mtres as if knocked down the bearing wall (which taken by them DAMn termites anyway) that devides the kitchen/dining area with the lounge room to open it up as the lounge room was quite rediculously small
at the moment the original counter beams are in place supported by a 125mm timber post in the middle were they both meet (where the original wall was)
the suggested LVL profile will be supporting roof struts and hangers.at either end
iv downloaded the designIT program from Carter Holt Havrey site
and it suggested 2/600x63, now im assuming its for a single span???
how much would the profile of the LVL change if i want to run a continuous span , which im wanting to do , roof is conventional , pics added the next day or two
any advice would be greatly appreciated
Cheers Ben
