Tanner bench saw/planer
Hi my father has a Tanner table/bench saw with a planer on the side of it. It must be a 1950/60s area as that is when he used it building the family home. He last used it in the 70s finishing of the built in robes. It seems to be complete and was running when last used. It is in fairly good condition for its age. Can anyone advise me if they are of any value? cheers Murray

sold a few average saw/planer combo's off for around $200-$300 via ebay over the years & sold a nice one for $500, so it has some value but it all depends on condition & brand - think tanner has a good name for old woodworking gear.

They're made on this side of the Ditch - and to the best of my knowledge Tanner are still in business. I nearly bought a thicknesser from them about 10 years ago - bought a Makita instead. The Tanner would have been a better buy (much more robust).
Regrets - I have a few...

Tanner gear pops up here on ebay occasionally and always seem to be robust and well made so it would be worth a bit - as others have said depending on condition.

Your post is the first one in this thread for 7 years. It's likely that many of the posters have moved on. Hopefully someone with a Tanner saw combo will reply, but if not try searching Trademe (New Zealand's eBay), as they show up there regularly. You could download some pictures.
Buy the way, i was wrong in my previous post, Tanner went out of business somewhere around the turn of the century. Some (limited) spares are still available.
