    Default lambs fry

    Local IGA was throwing out lambs fry for $1.50 each, so i thought the dog will loovvvee that.

    Got home and thought i might cook some for myself, I hated the stuff when I was a youngun (50 years ago) - had to eat it with bacon, if you didn't you got a "red ear'

    So I cooked it, there is a really fine line cooking this stuff, too long and its dry as that dingo's appendage , too soon and its mushy in the middle (not ideal ).

    What do you folk add to L.F to make it more savoury, I couldn't eat a lot of it, I did get some some "bacon chops" (Aldi sell them) out and cooked those at the same time, helped wash down the dry bits.

    I could eat it once or twice a year, but it is an acquired taste, must have a go at crumbed Lambs brains - really liked them as a kid, might get the mates missus to cook them, I reckon under-cooked lambs brains would NOT be too savoury

    Hi to you all,
    Well at this time I've not been to well, so after a bit of asking around, we found them.
    Absolutely Beautiful, Brains with Parsley & White Sauce, dash of salt.
    Not the cheapest food, but worth the price.
    You get 3 sets @ $8 the lot.
    Many years ago My Wife wood make me Brain & Walnut Sandwiches with Brown Bread & Butter, & when the boys found out they never ever took my food.

    Lambs Fry ( cut in strips) sliced onions, green beans, bacon, beef stock, worstershire sauce and salt and pepper. dip the LF in seasoned flour, add all the rest in a saucepan cover with the stock and black sauce and seasoning then simmer gently for around an hour.Yummy over creamy mash potatoes and peas.
