Cept one of your answers is incorrect. Kiwi Fruit originated in China as Chinese Gooseberries and subsequently marketed under the generic name Kiwi Fruit.

The canary islands one is an interesting question because it actually works in reverse.
You're right that the canary islands are named after dogs (canine), but the name for the canary bird comes from the canary islands.
