    Default food for thought!

On the number of threads posted by one person...............

For example only (Benevolent Dictator) to date FOUR THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY FIVE starting in 1999,roughly 9 years of threads

    Averages= 528.3 per year

    = 44 per month

    = 1.5 per day

= if each tread took 4min to post = 19 thousand min

    = 317hrs

    = 13 days

    Now thats commitment to woodworking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In trying to learn a little about everything,
    you become masters of nothing.

Skewy and DJ have averages of 7.3 and 7.8 posts per day which is about 5 times more time per days spent on posts than the BD

But these don't tell you what goes on behind the scenes - The BD and DJ have spent WAAAY more time that this on posting on these forums

Number of posts has nothing to do with commitment.

Commitment is the 20 - 40 hours that each of the mods and administrators put in each and every week to keep these forums running smoothly. Now that's true commitment. The number of posts count for an extremely minute part of their commitment.

Pity more didn't see the real commitment behind these forums.

and I have been administering non stop for 9 years and five months whilst a number of members have been here and contributing for that same time. There's commitment.

Jim Carroll, AlexS, JackoH, all joined in 1999 and all still posting, there's some more commitment.

Christopha joined in May 1999 as Doorstop, over 5,000 posts and time as an administrator. Deleted himself in 03 and came back as Christopha now he's well over 2,000 posts and still going strong helping and upsetting people. That's commitment.

Merely the tip of the iceberg. Top poster has over 12,000 posts since 03 - That's not commitment that's just crazy - No that's extreme commitments. Gotta be a medical name for it somewhere.

    Cheers - Neil

PS Sorry to resurrect this old thread but that's how far behind I am in reading them. Start working on September tomorrow.
