    Smile louvre windows

Hello evrybodies. My straw bale house wot I am building is nearly at lock up now. I would like some of those new trendy glass louvre windows but they are devilishly expensive! Anybody know where I can buy just the fittings i.e the swivelling end clippy things wot hold the glass in place. I can easily cut my own glass. The new trendy ones have a nice plastic or powder coated finish, not to be confused with the scungy old 1950's aluminium things usuallyfound in the dunny.
    Thanks for your collective wisdom.

    B'bub,
beware of big bad wolves, they may huff and puff and etc etc . What you're after is louvre galleries. You'll need to linish the long edges of the blades for looks and safety. Any good hardware store or window fabricator should be able to supply them.

    make sure you
    a) glue the glass in.
    b) have some mechanism for locking them

Its tempting to think that no-one can climb through a louvre window but louvre windows can be a serious security weakness if left open, or if they can be pushed open from outside, just slide out the glass and climb in.
no-one said on their death bed I wish I spent more time in the office!
