Finish for one indoor & one outdoor Blackbut slab table
I am making two slab tables for a friend. The inside table will have steel frame legs & the outside one will have timber legs. I have the following queries.
1. Can U beauts Hard Shellac be used for an outdoor table. It will be under a roof, therefore out of direct sunlight but not rain in the event of storms.
2. The info sheet for Hard Shellac says it is ideal for table tops & other horizontal surfaces. Does this mean that there is some issue applying it on the legs for some reason?
3. The slabs are being left with some of the chainsaw marks from the Lucas Mill. Will these recesses cause any issues with a finish.
4. Can Hard Shellac be recoated and/or repaired?
5. Would Danish Oil be OK for one or both of these tables? A flat finish is required.
Any other comments or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation
