I am aware of the advice in these pages about finishing Huon Pine with White Dewaxed Shellac and EEE Ultra.

I am in the process of finishing two hot dish serving trays (or platters) made from Huon. My question if I may is: Would the finish described above be suitable for putting hot dishes (stews etc) on? I guess I'm concerned about them marking.

Failing this treatment what about Danish Oil?
