Craftsman Bed
I'm currently making an Arts and Crafts style bed for my granddaughter.
It is being made from American white oak and when finished will have drawers for storage below.
I'll be posting more as I progress.

that looks great.
I am hoping to build a new kitchen for our home from American Whit Oak, but I have a couple other projects to get finished first & I need to build up the courage to attempt a complete kitchen worthy of the money i have invested in tools & machinery over the years.
Looking forward to watching your bed come together.

The head and foot are now both dry fit. Next is to make the bed rails.

I cut and planed the rails yesterday. The rails will be mounted with metal brackets morticed into the wood. I'll provide detailed photos when I get that far.
No shop time this weekend; our car club has a car show, I'll be working there all weekend.

It has been a long day, and the red wine ( and the vertigo medication) is beginning to take effect, I thinkregards,

Hey Jill,
How can you get the car club to see the importance of a man's woodworking priority when you can't even get them to drive on the correct side of the road...
What car / cars do you have Wrangler?

I hang my head in shame!! What can I say, I'm a flawed human being. That being said, the car show has been this weekend in May for 30 years. The time was factored in to complete the bed in time for an end of June birthday.
I'm too old to do anything 24/7 anymore. Ah for the old days.

Steve,
I have a mid '60's Series IIa Land Rover 88, a 1991 Mazda MX5 and my wife has a '73 MGB. Our tastes in cars are not typical of middle America.

Driving cars with engines smaller than 5 liters here is, maybe bot rebellious, but it is unAmerican.
The last time we were truely rebellious as a nation, it WAS a king.
