I guess its pretty important, but I couldn't believe how long it takes for the ref to make a decision when using the video playback!

I don't know a whole lot about the sport, but I find it very slow. Have you ever seen a game of AFL football?

I thought most of the big arenas there were covered? It was raining pretty good, and all the coaches and players on the sidelines were just sitting in it, mics, head phones the lot. whats with that?...even the playback screen that the ref looks at had its own little poncho

But he didn't say that he cares about us caring. He said that he knows that we don't care.

Personally I think that's a bit presumptuous of him. Even though I may not care, the fact of the matter is that some may, and if he really believes that they don't, then he's pretty silly for wasting his time. But perhaps he just likes staring at his own words out of vanity.

He should just take more care about telling someone who he knows may care about bears and colts.

The Bears should trade Grossman for David Hicks. Even though Hicks is in Guantanimo and has been for 5 years without being charged the BEARS would STILL be better off.

The way that the rule is written, there must be conclusive evidence to overturn a ruling on the field. When the ruling could affect the outcome of the game, the officials are painfully thorough.

AFL - Here we call it Australian Rules Football. I have seen a few games on TV. The problem is that the broadcast is your local fare. There's nothing wrong with that but for one who doesn't understand the rules of AFL, the game looks more like a semi organized brawl. I would like to understand the rules better. (As you wished the AFL officials did also.)

Many NFL teams do not play in a covered stadium. The stadium in Dallas, the fans are covered with a roof, but the players are not. I'm not a fan of dome stadiums or green artificial turf. (Artificial turf is asphalt, a thin layer of foam padding and a green rug that simulates grass.) The new stadium for the Phoenix Cardinals is a dome but with natural grass. They roll the turf in and out of the stadium on game day. As SWMBO says, real football (NFL style) is played in the snow, rain and mud.
