Paul Call band saw.
I can buy a Paul Call band saw for 185 dollars it looks to be ok ,no broken ,bent or stripped parts that i can see its all cast with the wheels the band travels on has a rubber outer and they are perished and could need fixing ,other then that it looks ok .the throat is about 4.5 to 5 inches deep.
Question ..would i be wasting my money buying this old saw.

G'day Bluegum30,
The one question might be to ask yourself, is 5" enough for what you want to do?
Other than that, Paul Call are very reliable pieces of machinery. I've got an old Paul Call 6" jointer and it's never not had a problem in its daily running or what I've asked of it. IMO they're as strong as all get out, so I'd go for it.

band saw
first up i bought the paul call band saw and after a good clean it is as i said no damage and runs good, the place i got it at is a tradeing post for just about anything.i did make an error in the discription of the cutting capacity,it has a 12.5 inch wide cut by 5 inch deep hope that is how you say it.
and thanks to Waldo for the push as one of my vices is procrastination.
Lloyd.

G'day Waldo. I just bought a 6 inch Paul Call jointer & table saw, and it's missing the springs to hold the jointer blades. Would you know where I could find them?
Thanks,
Jayden
