Disabled Disabled toilets
Livepool Hospital and Disabled Disabled toilets
Saturday, 10 September 2011
What a pigs ear Liverpool Hospital is right now in the current situation major rebuilding. Went to visit MiL as she has had a number of strokes earlier in the week. On Wednesday and today the need arose for me to find a disabled public toilet. Staff knew not one available including cleaners, as we were on the 2nd floor a trip to Emergency was required for the only remaining known public disabled access toilet down to ground floor out and around to Emergency almost 15 mins away. Today I was greeted by a blood stained bowl and seat in the same toilet. This is remains of stupidity of the last Labor government the management needs a good swift kick out the bloody door.

Dear Wheelin',
That's pretty weird alright in a Hospital... Heck, there'd surely be a lot of wheelchairs on any given floor at the best of times? I guess for some ridiculous "indemnity"-krap-lawyer reason, they might possibly have been too gutless to let you use one of the actual Ward-toilets...
Anyway, I hope your MIL is sort-of okay, and that it was only TIA's that she was having. If they can get her on to the "right stuff" soon enough beforehand, maybe the whole thing might settle down for her. She'll have to get an exercise bike - EOS!
Best Wishes with it,
Batpig.

Batpig its only 3 years since I was in the hospital myself and knew where the public toilets were down near the main entrance and first floor all 3 gone The one on the same floor as Mil is on also gone.
Now patients are allowed to roam and ramble some using walkers and other wheelchairs this now means there is not one toilet they can use.
As for MiLshe has whats called star strokes a series of mini strokes various areas its s low process from here on but at 87 she has done well.

Sorry to hear about the MIL Ray. Hope things improve for her.
TThe toilet story is a shocker! I get pistof when I see disable dtoilets that have been vandalised, but to remove them in a hospiatal is worse than vandalism.
