Bit of a gloat - HARD SHELLAC TEST.
Received an email from a (verified owner/purchaser) of our Hard Shellac. Below is the Review he left on the Hard Shellac page of our web site. He has deleted any reference to the other finishes used in his test for obvious reasons. Suffice to say they were not rubbish finishes. The test was done on 7 Huon pine boards all prepared in exactly the same manner.
Hard Shellac Review:
Great product. I decided to confirm for myself – today I did a stain test with Hard Shellac vs various other natural looking finishes including Scandinavian Oil, HBO, hardwax, & various poly/Tung combos. I even added a 9k ceramic treatment to part of some samples. I tested by leaving coffee, red wine, rust and permanent marker for 8hrs before trying to clean off with soapy water, surface cleaner, and finally alcohol based cleaner. Hard Shellac was the only one that came out totally clean afterwards with all four “contaminants”. It’s about the hardest of all the finishes I tested too. Great product.
After seeing the results n in photos I wasn't really all that surprised at the way they turned out. One very well known, highly promoted Australian made "all organic oil" came out 2nd worst and was exactly the what I would have expected... for years I've reckoned they were sort of pulling the wool over peoples eyes with their demos, etc.
Anyway I've had my gloat. Now off to bed.
