Pipe Maze for KindyGym
Our eldest daughter who is one of the senior gymnastic coaches were Tracey is head gymnastic coach ask me to make a "Pipe Maze" for KindyGym.
The KindyGymers get to drop a 65mm dia plastic ball down one of the top openings and see were it comes out...
I was given a photo to work off, but I had to ask Leanne for the pattern as she didn't want exactly the same as the photo she'd found.
I had to work out the number of fittings...
17 x 90deg, 7 x 45deg, 2 x 22.5deg & 2 x 15deg elbows plus the 1 x tee & 4 x 'Y' junctions plus scrounge around the shed for all my 90mm stormwater pipe off cuts totally something like 6mtrs. There's 18 pipe clamps too, to secure the maze onto a sheet of 9mm ply of 1200 x 1200mm..
The whole lot will be undercoated and painted up in bright colours....
Some photos are attached of the original photo and of what took me 3-4hrs of layout, [which was changed slightly after the photos].....
Cheers, crowie

Hi Peter,
I see you have a new hobby as a plumber. Great job on the pipe maze and nice bright colours.

I like it.
A variation I thought of while looking at the photos could be to install diverters to change the directions. Then the kids could be given a specific challenge - make a ball start at X and come out at Y

Thank you gents all....KindyGym is gymnastics for 2-5 year old pre-schoolers, so yes they should have a heap of fun with it....
I just need to undercoat everything, paint some bright colours, mount it on a backing board and it'll be ready for fun and play....
I'll do another lot of photos when it's finished, cheers, crowie....

Well the Pipe Maze has been finished......1200mm high & 1000mm wide and it'll work either way up.....
It's got 2 coats of Hammertone Brass on the pipes [which looks gold in colour] and Hammertone Reef Blue on the backing board.....
It's a little awkward, but with 2 gymnastic coaches it'll be fine and the kids will have a heap of fun trying to work out were the ball is going to come out......
Cheers crowie
