Floor tiling help

I am getting a small family room built. It's an irregular shape, but about 2.5 X 8.5 m, with a small ensuite at one of the narrow ends about 1.5 X 2.7

The floor tiles I like for the family room are 433 X 433. I have been told that 200 X 200 is the maximum size floor tile for the ensuite, because of the fall to the wastes.

There are some tiles I like about 160 X 160, for the ensuite floor. I have been told that it can look off if the difference in tile size between the two rooms is too great. Is this difference too great? 433 vs 160? The family room flows directly into the ensuite. I will put a 100mm row of stones across the doorway separating the two rooms.

Also, I have been told that laying the tiles diagonally can help to make the room look bigger, and not so long and narrow, and may disguise the fact that it is irregularly shaped.

Any opinions greatly appreciated, as I haven't done this often. I am a bit nervous, because once the tiles are down, theres no going back.

You can get by with the difference in size IF the tiles are also significantly different in colour, surface grain, etc. Then it just looks like two rooms of tile. But if the two tiles are very similar, the difference will be much more noticeable.

Laying in a diagonal can make a room look bigger, but I would lay out the field both ways first and then decide (don't make any cuts near the walls until you have picked a pattern ).
