Kids "hard wearing finished" furniture
Hi
I've bought a raw pine table for my daughter. I've sprayed with high gloss painting. It looks OK. But it does not look verry glossy.
Could I use the polyurethan to spray on top to provide the durability to the surface like they do to 2 pack finish to the kitchen cabinet.
Can some one HELP!!!
Regards
John

If you want a high gloss finish, the process is roughly:
Sand. (a lot)
Fill end grain, knotholes and so on.
Raise grain.
Sand.
Undercoat.

Buff with Tripoli powder/rottenstone/U-Beaut's stuff that is quite good but I can't remember the name of.
You are not really going to get a hard finish on pine - the wood itself is too soft. If you want a hard-ish finish, I've found that car enamel works well.
