pay attention!
... not you lot, me!
Hi Guys,
So I was looking for a comprehensive, and hopefully friendly woodworking forum to join, found this, and joined. Simple!
Then I saw that you're based in Australia... I really should open my eyes a bit eh?
Anyway, I'm here.
Hello!
London Calling!
I'm not a professional, I'm hardly even a hobbiest.
But I do occessionally start something simple (rarely complete), and have always enjoyed a bit of a wittle.
I have worked in a desk manufactureres in the past, and a frame makers... also had a bit of experience on building sites joining the on-site chippies and/or contract installers. All great experience and something I enjoyed immensely.
Basically I just enjoy making stuff (whatever it's made of), and certainly at the moment I'm getting jollies on some basic woodworking and carving stuff.
I cannot boast a workshop, I can hardly lay claim to any decent tools - all the same I shall certainly enjoy looking at all your work, learning from your experience, and maybe making a pain of myself by asking daft questions.

G'Day & Welcome "to the Great South Land" & to a top forum "GP".
There are quite a few members from UK on the forum as well as across the rest of the world..
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

Thanks again for the warm welcome guys, I wasn't expecting that!!!
I do have a little project on the go at the moment, that I am particularly proud of a mini rocking horse (named King Rocker, I know, I know!)
Compared to all the work I've seen already here I don't think it compares very well at all, but hey, it's mine and I like it.
It's completely cut from one piece of log found on the Thames footpath, and that was the appeal for me.
To completely cut each block from the single log, design and join the pieces (glue & peg) and then hopefully carve and shape it into something roughly resembling a horse (it's close, but might just be a fledgling wingless dragon!)
I shall try to get some pics of KR's progress on here.
By the way: WIP?
I shan't be doing that right now though, Formula One free practice session two is on the tele. Priorities!

Welcome to the forum.
Does not matter where we are based as we all part of the internet and that brings us all together. I hope you enjoy your stay at the internet shed.
