    Default 2012...end of the world...innit?

Just thought I'd better catch up on my bucket list...apparently the world ends (again) this year ...(something about the Mayans running out of room on their calender..5000 years ago)..
Sheesh..the calender I get from my local mechanic runs out every year..

Anyways..before the world ends I want to..
    ..Visit Istanbul
    ..Finish my shed
    ..Paraglide rainbow beach
    ..Apologise to Katy McEnzie..
..Make something nice out of that fiddleback Huon pine I've been saving for years..

So...What do you folks want to get done? ..."Before the world ends"

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

My experience of "mechanics" calendars is they are far more entertaining than the Mayan calendar.

My impression is that sundry religious groups have predicted the end of the world on numerous ocassions. I am not quite sure how they reconcile their predictive failures.

Whatever I get done in 2012 I would like to get done a little quicker than I managed in 2011, which seemed to be a year for slowing down.

In any event I trust all forumites have an exceptionally good year with however much of it remains.

    Regards

Exactly. It's more important than the end of the world.

Can I come paragliding with you Undy ?

One of my friends reckons we only get stuff done cos we are gonna die. If we lived forever we would all just put things off till next week.

    My bucket list?

    -go see central Australia.
-walk that long walkiing track in Tassie!
    -have a big exhibition!
    -get my s(*% together!
    -go paragliding with Undy

A good friend sends me heaps of emails and he normally includes a little quote. One of them that came through this year was:

"Don't take life too seriously. None of us are going to get out alive."

On a more positive note I have left your bucket list in. Sounds OK to me . Can you do tandem paragliding or is it just a desire to be on the same beach?

That would be right After working a life time, I retired last week, and now someone tells me the world is going to end in 2012
Forget about my bucket list, SWMBO still has her own list which has priority! Wait until I tell her there is no point as the Mayans have foretold an end to the world!

As I have posted before, at least we won't have to put put up with them saying "I told you so".

May I have two buckets please? A fanciful bucket and a realistic bucket:

    Fanciful:

    Travel extensively along the Amazon
Visit the North of the NT or the Cape

    Realistic:

    Build the new shed.
Make a "pretty" (Roubo style) workbench to put inside aforementioned new shed.
Make router table utilising smart aluminium router plate only in my possesion for 3 yrs to stand alongside "pretty" workbench.
    Finish renovations to house.

Eh....I might have those buckets around the wrong way, but I'm sure you understand the intent .

    Regards and Happy New Year
