Weekends burl harvest effort & a couple of questions
Got the big bar going Saturday and harvested this lot, red river gum for the coffee table slabs and another type of gum for the rest. Went well until a little ant crawled into my eye and bit me, I can laugh about it now but at the time .........
One of the picture shows close up of a slab, grain stood up to the pressure cleaner but appears course, almost dry rot look about it. Will this be ok to use or will I need to cut it out?
rather than waiting for ages for coffee table slabs to dry, thinking putting a Estapol floor covering 7008 on surface and sides and a coating of Tung oil underneath.
Will epoxy in tube nuts underneath and fit some threaded rod to top of legs, so if it does move a bit they can be adjusted.
Is this a stupid idea and end in tears or work do you think?
