Sanding and coating a hardwood floor in stages: doable or crazy?
Hi everyone,
just looking for some advice, I have ripped up carpet and lino in my house to reveal hardwood boards. I am having a new kitchen built as I type also.
I want the floor to be sanded and coated throughout the whole house, but my problem is that I need to get at least the kitchen floor done before the new kitchen comes in (soon), but I am not ready for the rest of the house to be done at the same time.
I have not painted and have a fair bit of other reno work to do before I get all of the floors done, but have this immediate need to get at least the sand + first coat of varnish down in the kitchen area.
The kitchen, dining, lounge and hall all flow together, so I am not sure how to get the floor in the kitchen area prepared without causing 'blending' problems later when I get the rest done.
My plan was to sand and get one coat down(Cabots CFP Waterbased) in just the kitchen area, then get a pro in a bit later to do the whole house (including finishing coat in the kitchen)
Will a professional be able to blend this seemlessly later on?
Oh, I am also currently living in this house just to make it easier
Thanks
