Default Want to upgrade my scrollsaw

I have ben scrolling for a couple years now. Originally I purchased a cheap Taurus from Aldi to see if I would enjoy it and modified the blade holder to take pin less blades. The saw is good for thinner wood but it wanders on thicker stock and I am now ready to upgrade. I have been doing research on the net to find a suitable quality saw at a reasonable price. I like the DeWalt788 DW but can not find where to buy here in Oz. I have also had good reports about Carbatec 18" and General saws but lean towards the DeWalt. Would appreciate any feedback or leads where to buy.

Simple answer to this. De Walt are not imported into Australia. I think the main reason is Australia have a different voltage to America and our market isn't big enough to encourage the change.

I have an Excalibur which, I think is the General. I owned a DeWalt before. The DeWalt was a good saw, no doubt, but I love my Ex. Is it $400 better than the DeWalt? Depends on how much scrolling you do. With the DeWalt I did some scrolling, with my Ex. it is all I do anymore...

However, I have read good things about the Carba-Tec, which I believe is a knock off of the Hegner. HOWEVER, would I trade my Ex. for a Hegner,,,,, I would really have to think about it.
