floating or overlay? Still confused!!
I've had a look through past posts here about overlay v's floating floors. Our current floor is ceramic tiles. I went and had a look at some samples today of silkwood and readyflor. I like the idea of the ease of installation of these, and the fact that there is no finishing required onsite (we have a new baby due so I'm concerned about fumes and longer term voc's). However, the finish on both products is apparently gloss, but it didn't look very gloss to me at all.
So, does anyone know of any brands of engineered floors out there that give a comparable gloss finish like traditional timber floors?? Or would we be better off going through the hassle of overlay flooring with a water based finish onsite??
Also, has anyone dealt with 'Northern Rivers Timber' flooring products? They seem to have a nice range of overlay flooring.
thanks!
