Shed Box Gutter

Hi All

I am building a shed with no eves (sketch attached). I'm just thinking about the gutter options. Is there a sort of off-the-shelf box gutter that is suited to a pitched a roof, so there is no overhang? I looked at the Stratco site but none of the profiles appear suitable.

How would you do it?

Hi OBBob,
All you need for normal gutter is about 50mm overhang into the gutter. You can just fix the gutter brackets to the wall and hang the gutter.
Can you not get 50mm overhang or have I missed something?

Really? I though the normal 'attach to rafter ends' gutters were about 120mm wide? Is there a skinny version?

Surely you need a bit of width in the gutter or water will pour over the side. It looks like quite a steep pitch and a good rainfall will need a bigger gutter. (I think)

I'm not sure yet if I have enough room for a normal gutter. But I'm sure I have seen sheds that have a sort of triangular box gutter, just don't know if it was a custom thing or others have seen it around.

Reading your reply and others, I think I did misunderstand your original question. By "no overhang", do you mean that you don't want the gutters sticking out the side?

I think the standard box gutter is about 100mm wide and requires the roofing to "overhang" 50mm into the gutter.

If you dont wont to use a standard gutter configeration you will have to have the trusses made to suit.

what do you want a gutter for? unless you're planning on catching the water, why bother at all?

I do want to catch the water and I don't really want to saturate the surrounding areas. All the rain seems to come in rather large but well seperated batches these days!

Cant load you sketch but the v-type box gutters do not comply, some info was put out recently by the plumbing board. Why not have a parapet wall and standard box gutter arrangement, or will the wall be to high.

Thanks, I might have to do that. It would just look nicer if I didn't have to have a taller wall on one side.

Here's what was referred to earlier in terms of the 'V' gutters not being allowed. It is actually a refershing change that rather than just a document saying it isn't allowed, it provides various other options to overcome the issue.
