Wolfenden press
We picked this up at the clear-out auction of Baker & Davies for the princely sum of $700 (+15% buyers premium, +GST)

It's been modified with an open square frame at one end so long pieces can hang out the end
Does anyone (I'm looking at you Matty ) have any info other than this? http://collections.museumvictoria.co...9779-large.jpg

Nice press.
Great picture in that link as well !
I checked out the online catalogue for that auction and got a report from Matty about what things went for . That was one I was interested to know what it bought . Good to see your boss got it and its going to a good home. You will have to show us a pressing and tell us how it went , glue type as well .
I was converting a screw press before I started moving . Converting it to fit under a table so above it is a work space as well . Then I moved and it still needs finishing .
Did you have that trolley made up just for the press?

Results have been fantastic with both PVA and PU glues, I'll try to remember to get some pics.
They're just a couple of trolleys we use for moving packs around in the factory, the press is now sitting on 4 600kg low-profile castors to make it semi-mobile if we ever need more working space than available in the back corner of the factory.
I say semi-mobile because, while it will roll on the castors (with 3 or 4 of us shoving), steering is only possible if we jack it up and turn the wheels in the right direction. The clearance between the top of the press and the mezzanine I-beams is about 10mm, so we can't go any bigger with the wheels
