A pair of Red Cedar bookcases
These are the 2 bookcases I have been working on. (H=200cm, W=100cm, D=30cm) All parts, except the backs, are torsion boxes (Oregon frame and Red Cedar skin). It has taken me around 150 hours to build them. All I need to do now is to seal them with shellac and finished with a 2 to 3 coats of wip-on poly.

They look great Scott. Why torsion boxes? Just interested.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

red cedar
Cedar seems to be in fashion once again and you have done an exceptional job (as usual).
Just a question out of interest....., I guess you are a good cook. When you serve dinner, could I see a photo.
I think you'd be a shoe-in for the next master chef.......
Have a great Christmas and when you want some more cedar.......

A pair of Red Cedar bookcases
Nice work. I like the shelf holders. What timber did u use for the inside of the torsion boxes? I assume that u didn't use cedar?

Well good to see you haven't been turned to cinders with recent Bush fire in the area............every time I hear that sort of new for over your way I think ."There goes all Wongo's wood"

Nice work Wongo....as always.
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.

There's only one word that comes to mind. Beautiful. Beautiful workmanship. Beautiful result. Beautiful!
"Come sit down beside me" I said to myself, and although it didn't make sense,
I held my own hand as a small sign of trust, and together I sat on the fence.

I could come back with a smart comment by saying I will reserve my opinion until I see the finish product.
Then the suspense might get to you in not knowing, so I think I need to spare you. I like the idea of torsion box construction I think you have done an excellent job on the build.
