Default electronic anti rust devices for vehicle

Anyone know about these. The chemistry behind them is sound but... Is there any "reliable" data (websites...) to support the claims that they prevent rust in cars. I'm not that keen to dump $600 into a device where there is no supporting data. Do you have one. Any brands that are better than others.

    Matthew,
they work on the same principle that electrolysis and sacrificial anodes do. Sound science and practical experience show that these work. However they will only work when the metal is immersed in an electrolyte. Read a good report on these systems years ago which said that they won't work because the vehicle isn't immersed (hopefully )

It'd be a much more productive thing to do to simply send me the money.

One thing to watch with them.

If you reverse the polarity when you connect it, when you come out in the morning you will find a pile of rust where your Holden used to be.

    (err, just joking)
