    Default National Parks

Visited Somersby Falls today which comes under the National Parks area, very nice place and have no problems with paying the $7 they want for the day pass as long as it goes to the maintaining of the parks. But it would be handy if their machines took notes, had to drive back up the road to get some goldies to put in the silly thing

I think they are trying to con everyone into buying one of those 'annual passes' - so they get more money in one hit & don't care if you actually go to one of their parks.

Plus the bean counters get to do someone in a remote location out of a job - I mean to say, a local might keep the place tidy, report damage - you know if you get too many visitors they will wear things out & expect them to be maintained.

For a classic destruction of facilities by neglect, try going to Jerusalem Bay other than by luxury yacht. There was a walking track from the nearest rail station, huge wharf, house/facilities, fresh water - now there are a few rotting pilings & no landing possible except from a dhingy or swim, the track is covered in fallen trees or the path has collapsed, no water, no facilities just a feral garden & broken concrete.

Possibly although I didnt read the sign to see where you got an annual pass from nor whether it was cost effective to get one.

Have seen the Jerusalem Bay track that goes over the freeway, but have never been on it, never been sure how you got on it or where it took you. Sounds like I havent missed on much.

Thanks for that, oges, There is something special about water like that, and also the babbling of a stream over gravel, that seems to give rise to much navel contemplation. I wrote a poem about tranquility one time and your pic brought it to mind.
