G'day fella's, does anyone know about reg's on piping under a bus?? Ive been asked to run a lpg line to a fridge, just wondering if theres no probs with a copper line. wasnt sure with stone chips etc.

Don't know about the regs, but on all the cars I had on lpg since the early eighties the gas line has always been copper, but they run it in clear pvc(?) tubing, obviously to protect it from stones.

Easiest is to ask an lpg installer, or ring the appropriate authority.

Copper will be fine as long as its type B and protected from physical damage, as per caravan specs.
From memory its section 6 in the AS 5601........

All your pipework must be run underneath except where you poke through the floor to connect to the appliance..........

davo2310, To complete any lpg work on auto's you have to be licenced, and you have to supply a certficate on completion you are also liable for any faults licenced or not

Another proposition just popped up, and the statement was made about having the bottle inside the bus/motorhome, the statement was.... it is legal if the bottle was 4kg and under, to have in a cupboard below or beside the appliance.
Due to my lack of time upgrading the a.s rules and getting new ones.. can anyone confirm or deny this.. cause there will be no work done or certificate issued if its not the case.

Without consulting the Bible ( AS5601) I reckon it doesnt sound right, to me it wouldnt matter if it was 4kg or 45kg bottle as its the same gas. If its in a cupboard I believe it has to be accessible from the outside only, vented up and have a drain in the floor to open atmosphere, I may be wrong but Ill try to find the book and have a little read.
