Protecting Chair Legs.... .Ideas?
We moved into a house with varnished wooden floors... very nice... now after five years there's ugly grey floorboard showing through here and there... yuck....
what to do?
Can't just go to Bunnings and buy chair leg protector things... I've tried.. to many different size/shape chair legs and table legs in the house - none of which are suited to their offerings. True. None.
So I was thinking of cutting some plastic, like maybe old ice cream carton plastic, and sticking that to the bottom of the legs. I could easy trim to shape then.
I reckon I've got about 40 assorted legs to deal with. Not too many. Take my time.
But: how stupid is my idea? Anyone got any experience? Would that kinda plastic be too hard, just as bad as the unprotected leg? (wooden legs, I should have said).
Or would they wear out too quick?
Okay, so then what?
And, part 2: what kind of glue is best for this? Super glue? Araldite type (epoxy) ? Wood glue? Craft glue? Paper glue?
And a later post will ask about varnishing the floor, piecemeal...
