    Default rafter spans

    G day everyone

I got this carport to build problem is its 8.6meters by 6.5meters. I am not sure how to go about the rafters being 6.5meters. Is there anything that long that can stand a little water it will be covered in laserlight. Was thinking about colourbond rafters and beams but have never done that.Any help would be great

    Thanks

Go to the bottom of this page and download the PDF Spanning Tables document. Gives you all the spans and how to put it all together.

    Hi Robert

Just a bit of advice and save yourself some grief and some money because after one season living under laserlight you will be pulling it down and replacing it with Colorbond. If you don't believe me send a PM to Damon_11

I have just designed a new patio cover for him to replace his Laserlight one because he can't live under it.

Mine's alright and I've got no problem with it. I've installed heaps.

Colourbond gives you shade and it's cooler and you can walk on it, but I wanted a clear roof. Mine doesn't squeak, but I've got a deciduous tree over the top of it that keeps dropping leaves and crap that you can see through the laserlite. I knew this would be a problem and I just have to keep sweeping it with a long broom since you can't really walk on laserlite, and it's tricky even walking on the screws in the battens.

    I like a clear roof.

PM me if you've got some complaints that you don't want to air Bazza. I'll keep it to myself if you're worried about saying something wrong.
