tsunami and earthquake insurance.
got the insurance for the house today and they have whacked a $300 charge each for tsunami and earthquakes.
we live west of Brisbane atop a large hill not sure of the altitude but we can see Morton island from 50km inland straight over the center of Brisbane and all the hills in the way.
Brisbane is not exactly a high earthquake area either.
i cannot understand this increase has anyone else had this problem.

A lot of insurance companies dont cover for those kinds of things and never have. Maybe they re starting to but charging you (obviously) for the "service".
I dont think you need to worry about a tsunami if you are on a hill 50km inland, and yeah earthquakes... well ya never know but its not as if we are living in LA or Indonesia right on top of a fault line. How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?
