Old Post & Thread replys

Of late I have been going through some old threads but when wanting to reply or even thank those who've put the time in to create the threads I can't. Some of these threads aren't even 200 days old thats less than a year old.
Yet I have found other threads which are 7 years old or more can be replied to.

Obviously some are locked out others aren't.
