lining board bathroom walls
As the title suggests, I would like to line my new bathroom with pine lining boards (apart from the shower of course). This presents some questions about waterproofing the floor/wall joints and I wonder if anyone has suggestions. What I'm thinking is to put in about a 150mm high waterproof board which can be waterproofed as usual and then tiled, with the lining boards above that. Do I have other alternatives?

I strongly advise not to use pine DAMHIK.......even if you take all the correct fixing/sealing/waterproofing procedures, it will not end well

Waterproof the bathroom as per conventional method and tile floor plus add a skirting tile packed out to accommodate your wall lining thickness. Install wall lining on top of skirting tile to keep the boards away from the water.
Western red cedar would be a better choice of material

Constant changes in humidity, boards warping/splitting, constant changes in humidity works the nails and the boards become loose, mould starts in the tongue and groove and also behind the boards and eventually affects the majority of the board, trim gun nails even if galvanised rust at the head where the drive pin hits and compromises the coating, use stainless, any type of sealant doesn't stop humidity induced mould from growing behind it
