    Default The real John Ashcroft

How I ever got to this site again I have no idea.
I am the real john Ashcroft any one else claiming to be John Ashcroft is obviously an imposter.
I mean really, this is an Australian site surely it makes sence to trust the word of one of your own rather than someone from the country of land and gentry.
I just had to join and leave a comment.

Hurry up boys ! The chain is being pulled again !

Now, to settle matters, I'm John Ashcroft and so is my wife!

If any of the John Ashcrofts online can bat a bit, could they please report to the Windies change rooms?

It must look a bit like this in the Ashcroft household.......

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonay in one hand - Strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming - "WOO WOO...What a ride"

    No, there's one missing.

There are 4 John Ashcrofts, 3 Stooges, 2 Herb Elliotts and a partridge in a pear tree.

Firstly my apologies for a small detour (aka hijack )

When I was working in South Africa in the late eighties, early nineties, floppy disks, the ones in rigid plastic cases, (yes, they were still around then) were colloquially known as "stiffies" to distinguish them from the earlier incarnation housed only in thin flexible card.

Shortly after arriving in Sydney, I was in the office of the consultancy I was now working for, and called out to the secretary/receptionist to ask if she could get me a "stiffie" - this as the boss walks in.

He bursts out laughing, and points at 'S' (the secretary) who is glowing bright pink and giving me a distinctly old fashioned look:eek: .

It too a few seconds for me to realise that some terms don't make the culture transition very easily

    Cheers!
