G'Day from Colorado USA
G'day, I hail from Colorado. I am a native of this state and have traveled a bit but found i am in the garden of eden already so do not plan to leave any time soon. The weather is great here in Montrose,Colorado. It is the day before thanksgiving and the weather is real fine.I got stated in wood working in junior high school. I have not done any wood for about 20 years so i got back into it now. After 40 years of wanting a SHOPSMITH I got one, so now i am trying out the wood lathe. I have a ring master for the SHOPSMITH so i am doing both the lathe and the ring master and the concentrical rings that it makes to make bowls. I found you people thru the hunt for gouge sharpening and such.
I am married to the same woman for 40 years and have two grown boys who will travel 500 miles to be home for thanksgiving. Life is treating me just great and with Gods help I will enjoy a lot of wood working. Like i stated before i left the wood behind for a long time and now i just made a few adarondike chairs and a few benches and started scroll sawing so now do a bit of everything with wood. I switched from metal work to wood because of the black dust.
I may not check back too often cause it takes away from shop time but i will. Have a great day and a wonderful tomorrow.

Admire your enthusiasm
Hi,
I have been to Colorado too, and must agree you are living in a truely beautiful place.
You should consider a trip to Australia some time....I know there is never anywhere as beautiful as home but taking in the sights of Sydney Harbour on ferry heading towards Manly is truely special.
Good luck, stay healthy.

We are a mixed bunch of rat bags here from all over the world. You may find this site a bit adictive because there is a massive amount of info and even some humour. Enjoy the turkey and the family and show us your work --pleeeze! We just love pictures.

Yup!
Fact is wife and I introduced our kids to Wind in the Willows when they were young . I was always accused of rushing into new enthusiasms and so the family joke was whenever I came up with something new they would call out "Toot toot." Only W I T W readers will know what I'm on about.
Haven't you fixed yourself up with an avatar yet?

Thought so. See...my brain isn't that addled yet. I approach my projects with cautious optimism so could never attain the toad tag. Am working on avatar. All will be revealed.

Saying hello although I am a uk member.
Enjoy your shopsmith, I have seen demonstrations using this machine and it certainly built to a high standard.
Visted Montrose, and remember the black Canyon, with the wigwam at the road junction leading to the canyon, is it still there?woody U.K.
