Default Shapes & Shadows, a bandsawn box

    Hi

Recently received a bundle of Tassie Black Heart Sassafras, in one or two lengths the featured colour is almost black, working with the remainder of this timber is going to present a challenge as the colour is so intense. So here is my first effort from this bundle,

    Thumbs up

Tony that is one classy piece!!!

that's the trouble with intense sassy, it can be difficult to cope with the intensity.

Leaving gaps between the drawers as you have done gives the right amount of
    relief for the eyes.

Thank you for your kind words.

Thinking about another from the same timber, with a totally different design feature, not sure what will evolve? The challenge is to work with this dark grain but make light the dominant feature????

    Thank you for the compliment.

Half way into the next box, not sure whether it will win recognition- already it is called "Light & Dark" as the design attempts to emphasis these aspects.
