Default Is is possible to just paint over blueboard?(without rendering)

    Hi All.

I have a small feature wall, single piece of blueboard with no joins.

Has anyone had any experience simply painting over the blueboard, without rendering? Does it provide a similar "look" to the final rendered surface?

Just to note also, the recessed sections have been cut off, and the edges are essentially not visible.

    Thanks

It all depends on the paint you are using but it can be done

I painted a blueboard wall for the outlaws using a suede rough finish and it came out good!

I'd say it would also depend on the roller you use.

I've got a similar proposition but with quite a few joins which I hope I have treated appropriately. I think I am going to give that Dulux render paint a go but if you check out the Dulux website there are lots of cheaper alternatives http://www.duspec.com.au/duspec/QuickSpecSearchServlet

dulux render paint works fantastic, just make sure you use a wool roller
