Hey Guys,
just a quick question..
On a friends house, old Qld which is on concrete piers one has some damage and wants to replace it. i suggested to replace it with a 100 x 100 steel column, prop the beam with acrow props then demolish the pier, excavate, pour new footing, with the steel post in place. just wondering what the Regulations are on this,(i know steel posts are set 750 mm deep X 400 X400 belled at the bottom to 450x450 with a minimum 150mm of concrete under the steel post base) then excavate and cement in the new steel post. but just wondered if excavation was not an option can i bolt the steel column to the concrete slap???
Thanks for the info in advance....
