Following the installation of my new storage shed last year I have decided to undertake a renovation of my wooden workshed. I thought about knocking it down and putting up a new one with concrete slab but decided against it due to needing council approval and cost.
Currently the wooden shed is in good shape as far as the frame and walls etc. It is elevated off the ground so that is not a concern either.

Te intention is to redesign the usable space and give it a fresh look. I am going to attend welding classes soon so I want to be able to weld in the shed (most likely some form of electric welding) so the shed materials need to be resistant to burning etc I will also be doing the other usual handyman drilling/cutting/sanding etc of wooden items.

The areas I want to focus on are as follows and I would appreciate any comments of assistance:

1. The roof - current some sort of tile (not ceramic) - I am thinking of ripping the roof off as it is cracked (although sealed) and replacing it with the plastic corrugated sola sheeting stuff. or the other option is I put the sheeting over the top of the existing roof. Thoughts/comments??

2. The walls - currently the wood that forms the walls are just some sort of plank sheeting (pictures to follow this weekend). I was thinking of putting up gyprock or something else that would be better suited to a workshed on the framework which is in good condition also. Thoughts/comment??

3. The floor - currently wood also which will be unsuitable for my current plans. As it is raised off the ground I cant put a slab down. Any ideas as to what I can put down over the wood floor?

4. Electrical - the shed currently has power via extension cord to an outdoor power plug. COMPLETELY UNSUITABLE, so I will be getting my electrician to install a new fuse/circuit dedicated to the shed and install new power points and lights in the shed.

5. Storage - I will be installing work areas/benches myself and cupboards I was thinking about some of the Flatpax (garage series) items. http://www.flatpax.com.au/Content/Garage/Garage.aspx
Haven’t decided on the cupboards completely as yet.

I will post some pictures of the shed in its current form this weekend for further reference but as mentioned I would appreciate helpful comments or tips on materials that I should use etc.

Thanks all
