Default 1916 Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Cabinet Restore

Well I have just secured this of a family friend Machine Close Up Sm.jpgOverall Sm.jpg

Initial research indicates that it is from 1916, and hopefully Singer can confirm this and provide me with some more info about it.

    Issues are as follows

Doors are a real mess Doors Sm.jpg
Someone used it as a TV Stand and did this Holy Back Sm.jpg
This is some of the wear and tearInside Cover Damage Sm.jpgLH Side Sm.jpgRH Side Inside Workings Sm.jpgTop Damage Sm.jpg

I'm thinking of only fixing up the doors and the holes in the back (replace it maybe?) and leaving the rest as is.

Only issue with this is not having the repaired stuff stand out like old dog balls.

Any suggestions/hints/info/advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Yes keep it simple. Full restoration of these can take 50 hours plus easily.

Don't be too fussed about visibility of repairs. In time they will become part of the character/interest of the piece.
