I am at the stage of making the decision on the base boards for our house. 1952 weatherboard. The distance from the edge of the sealed driveway to the bottom starter board of the weatherboards is 600mm.

A starter board is a 140 x 25mm board with a rebate on one side, and it is placed first at the bottom of the weatherboards, and the rebate allows the first weatherboard to start 6mm out. The flat face of the starter board is 100mm

So what I am asking is opinions on what size base boards to get. The 600mm gap allows four 100mm boards with a 50mm gap between, with the bottom board near the driveway.

If I do get boards, are there certain products that are more warp resistant? Smoother to allow easier painting? Should they be kiln dried?
