Carnival in Bergen op Zoom
This may be strange for my dear Australian and American friends, but here in the Southern part of the Netherlands is it a big traditional event.
Carnival (we call it ''vastenavend'') exist here in Bergen op Zoom from off the middle ages. It takes 4 weeks every year, and after these 4 weeks everyone is tired but happy, even this old guy. It keeps you young for ever
Here a bit fun on the ''beursplein'' in the middle of the night on last saturday.

There are so many festive events steeped in long tradition that we never hear about in our own corners of the world -- your carnival looks to be a lot of fun, Ad.

Good fun, after all that I can imagine most of the participants were off for a cold Heinekin at the end.
