Do you own one? I need side rabbet plane plans and 2 bed angle specifications.
I have seen photos of the old Stan 98 & 99 specialty side rabbet planes in pairs. I do not have a machine shop or special grinders everything will be made by hand except drilling. I will be attempting to make a nice side rabbet plane from O-1 tool steel using a hacksaw, the edge of a precision hand file and drills and taps. The skew is 30 degrees and bevel is 25 degrees. I however need the side rabbet planes 2 bed angles that are underneath the cutting iron and the plane body thickness one appears to be 45 degrees and the other narrow bevel slopes down toward the mouth like a slippery slide. I will design a removable toe for the mouth similar to a 3 in 1 shoulder plane with machine screws. Yes this will hopefully be a functional and very comfortable, affordable tool. It will be first proto-typed in wood or hard plastic for fine tuning the cutting angles.

Hi woodhog
do you want to make a workable side-rebate plane or primarily build a copy of the Stanley #98, #99 pair
If your aim is a working side rebate, the Record (Preston) double sided version Record No. 2506S Side Rabbet Plane - Record Planes might be an option for youregards from Alberta, Canada
