Sydney - towing assistance required.
Well, we have sold the house, the removalist are coming Monday, and the gearbox in the truck (4x4) has decided to call it quits. Currently in with Ford for a rebuild. However, in the meantime I need to get a caravan up to Laurieton where we plan to start looking for a house in the Hastings area. No rental companies have vehicles with a towing hitch. I am looking for a suggestion on how I might get the vehicle up there. Obviously I expect to pay.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Can you store it somewhere close by till you get the truck back, that way you only have to pay for a local tow?
Cheers

Can't you rent a Ute or a commercial with a tow bar?
I saw a Meteor 4x4 Ute towing towing roadwork light/signal trailers around for work on the main roads this arvo.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Thanks to everyone for the prompt replies. The van is a 22' (not including A frame) dual axel.
Underfoot - look forward to catching up when we have settled.
Wheelinround - did a search for such people with no luck. Obviously not using the right key words. Will keep looking.
Cliff - I contacted most/all of the local car rentals with no luck. No towing hitches. Will look to see if Meteor is down here. I suspect that rentals that do business with construction/mining organisations might not have a retail outlet.
DJ - am trying to resist putting it back into storage as I need to get up and start looking for a new house.
Its just bad timing. Any other time I would just cop this on the chin. Once again, thanks for the suggestions.Bob
