Finishing a Jarrah slab table with Rustins plastic coating.
Hi All!
I love the forums and have spent a fair bit of time as a guest but now have a question to ask if anyone feels inclined.
I have constructed a Jarrah Slab table and need some help with finishing it. I've done two coats of "Rustins Plastic Coating" and with each coat I'm getting a fair few runs or sort of odd shaped circular rings in the coating that need to be sanded off with wet and dry between coats. This is fine between coats but when you get to the last coat how do you stop it from getting any runs or does it get better with each coat?
I'm currently using one of those semi disposable foam applicators shaped like a paint brush that the guy who sold me the RPC recommended. I'm thinking of spraying. I have a compressor, but have only ever used for joining rafters with 3 inch nails not spraying.
What are your thoughts on my application technique.
I'll see if I can upload some photos
The first is uncoated, even though the whole carport is coated with sawdust!
The second shows the slab with sanding sealer only
I'll have to take some more to show the RPC
Thanks
Sorry the photo's wouldn't upload, I'll try again later
