    Cool It's Time....darkside space.

My shed is officially full. It is time to add an extension. Won't be anything flash- just a tinny to tack onto the side of the main one (a 6x3m tin)

Won't probably happen for a few months, but the other half has given her stamp of approval.

Probably the only thing of particular note, is it is going to be devoted primarily to the darkside. There will be only 3 electron murderers allowed in there.

    1. Light.
    2. A stereo (ok, so it is no more than an iPod hooked up to a couple of speakers!)
    3. A ROS.

It will be the home of my very first workbench (the one I am planning on making, which is the one that I am going to use to make the workbench of my dreams).

    And a couple of Superjaws.

And another dream - a darkside tool chest - all dovetails, inlays etc. (Ok, so that one is going to be a long time coming- one can dream though). Which will store my HNT Gordon Planes, my Colen Clenton Squares, chisels etc.

It will be connected to the main shed via a interior door. And I think there will have to be a sign over the door, so you have no doubt what you are about to enter!

    Exciting times

Wonderful Stuart - this will become the heart of your shed. Let the foul electrons burn outside of the inner haven

Here's a mockup of the current shed (6m x 3m), trying to work out how to fit it all.

The new shed would be half the size, added to the left hand end. It would be accessed by removing the bench (bottom left hand corner), and a doorway cut through.

The main doorway to the main shed is bottom right wall, in between the drill press and the tool chest.

The mockup doesn't include another shed which already exists (3x3) at the right side, which is mainly a garden shed, but also contains the wood rack, an air compressor that feeds the main shed, and a 4" dust extraction unit.

Not all of them, but a few darkside tools. Apologies to anyone who has seen it before. (And now you can see where the avatar has come from).

    Thumbs up

    G'day Stuart,

    Gotta love them!

I'm hanging out for the next Mebourne Tool Drool Sale http://www.htpaa.org.au/nextsale.php where I'm hoping to pick up a few darkside goodies.

Won't they be terribly overpriced, seeing as everyone there will know exactly what they are and are worth? Imagine it's the last place to expect to find a bargain.

    G'day Stuart,

That's always the possibilty, but I'm after some more woodern rebate panes etc. and lst time they were very reasonable, the problem was that I ran out of time and stuff in my wallet. But I'm patient to wait until I find what I want and the price I'm prepared to pay for.
