Bathroom Countertop
Hi there! I made a bathroom counter top out of fence posts and am wondering how I should finish it, to get the most durability out of it, since this is for my kids/guest bathroom?
I had put about 6 coats of poly to it, and it looked great. I am however worried that it wont withstand spilled water, toothpaste, mouthwash etc...
My neighbor suggested Parks Super Glaze, but it takes away that rusticY feel to it. Is there another option? How would you all do it? Would you just go with the high gloss super glaze?Thank you in advance.
Nikki
<I have attached a picture of how it looks so far, with just poly coats, no super glaze. I like the feel of the matte finish, but will do super gloss if I have to.>Last edited by ruby2zdaze; 7th November 2012 at 09:12 AM. Reason: Adding Picture

I used wattyl 7008 which is a two pack poly on mine - about 7 years ago and still looks great. I thought I would recoat every few years but so far hasnt needed it.
It seems to be impermeable to just about everything found in the bathroom though I wouldnt try it with nail varnish.
It is high gloss and not 'rusticy' though.
cheers
