Raw Ironbark
Hey guys,
Just need some advice on some timber I have just purchased. I have bought some freshly milled Ironbark to construct a patio cover in my courtyard.
I have total of 3 posts and 2 beams. The 3 posts and 1 of the beams have been freshly cut a week ago and the remaining beam was cut 6 months ago. I am just looking at the best way to protect it without paint as I want to leave it its natural colour. Also do I need to clean it and will it leech any oils as the courtyard is sandstone tiled?
I have been looking into making my own oil from raw linseed oil, turps and terobene. Is this a good Idea?
